Caring for our World

Provides assistance to the poorest families in New Mexico, Mexico and South Africa.  Their solution to the need is completed by thousands of volunteers from all over the world who participate on an Amor Mission Trip.  

For over 24 years the First Presbyterian Church of Newhall had two home building mission trips a year to Mexico.  Our group ranges in size from 10 to 20.  It is amazing what we can accomplish with 2 days of hard work.  It is amazing how all our lives have been changed forever from the experience of helping desperately poor families.   We have never had safety issues.  We camp at a secured campsite and work in local communities sponsored by the local pastors.  We know how to do this.  Please join us, all are welcome ages 11 to 90!  

 Building Clean Water Systems 

Daystar University in Nairobi, Kenya is educating the next generation of Christ-centered African servant leaders. By God’s grace, Daystar University has been a beacon of light and transformation for the past 40 years.  The key need for Africa is not just education, it is quality education anchored in the value of Christ-centered servant leadership.  Daystar focuses great effort and energy on shaping every student to know Jesus Christ and make Him known as they represent Him as servant leaders in the world.  Africa is desperate for leaders who will not use their position for power but to serve the people even at personal cost.  Over 20,000 Daystar alumni are bringing innovative African solutions in the African context.  First Presbyterian Church of Newhall supports Daystar scholarship students who would not be able to attend university without tuition support.  Many of these students are the first from their communities to attend university.

Antalya Evangelical Church is made up of Turkish Christians in the city of Antalya, on the southern Mediterranean Coast of Turkey.  St. Paul visited Antalya on his missionary journeys in the first century AD.  In Nov. 2012, twenty-four people from the First Presbyterian Church of Newhall toured Turkey on the “Footsteps of Paul Tour,” and visited Rev. Ramazan Arkan, his family and the church.  Rev. Arkan is the pastor and one of the founding members of the Antalya Evangelical Church.

From 2012-2017 the Antalya Evangelical Church built a new facility to house the church and community center.  We have contributed to the funds needed to build and furnish this wonderful new facility and beacon for Christian faith.  Rev. Arkan preached at First Pres in May 2014 and has visited us several times since then.
