Bryce Morrow

Director of Youth Ministries

Bryce Morrow was born in Butler (Bates County), Missouri, but grew up in Warsaw, Missouri, where his father was the high school’s head football coach. During high school, Bryce excelled on both the gridiron and stage. He set both team and individual school records in both football and track and field.  His football career was an impressive 42-8 mark, and he was inducted into the school’s “Wall of Fame” for his consecutive speech finals appearances in a year. His final honor was to be unanimously voted by his peers to deliver the farewell speech at his high school graduation.

After graduation, Bryce attended State Fair Community College (Sedalia, MO) on a theatrical scholarship. He later attended the famed Second City Training Center in Chicago to hone his comedic skills.  Then Bryce relocated to Kansas City where he was employed as a bridge inspector for four years by the Kansas State Department of Transportation.

In 2004, Bryce loaded his green Nissan hatchback and journeyed west to fulfill his dreams in show business.  His dream became reality as Bryce achieved success relatively quickly. Bryce was cast in a senior thesis film project out of CSULB titled, “Brooklyn”, which garnered awards on the festival circuit. Bryce’s career continued with his first-ever booking of a Denny’s national commercial spot. Then in the Super Bowl XVII (2008) in the second quarter Bryce’s face was seen by millions on TV. You can look up that commercial on YouTube – Toyota “Badger.” The 30 second spot was ranked as “one of the funniest Super Bowl commercials ever.”

While Bryce was pursuing his professional career, his personal and spiritual life were overflowing as well. Bryce met his wife, Emily, in 2006 through mutual friends.  They both attended and became members of Bel Air Presbyterian church in 2010, yet sat on opposite sides of one another in the balcony.  They served as co-leaders for Vacation Bible School. Bryce and Emily were married on May 27, 2011, in the historic First Presbyterian Church in Bay City, MI.  In November 2012, they welcomed their first son, Reed.  While fulfilling his duties at Newhall Pres, Bryce and Emily welcomed their second son, Seeley, in November 2016.

Meanwhile, Bryce had returned to his love of the stage and sketch comedy and graduated from the Second City Training Center – Hollywood.  After the departure of Ian Fletcher, the Associate Youth Director, in 2016, Sarah Bolin, then Youth Director, invited Bryce to apply for the open position, and after prayer, Bryce felt led by the Lord to accept the position.  When Sarah returned to her home state of Florida, Bryce accepted the role of Director of Youth Ministries.  In this role, he is assisted by the Youth Committee and by other youth sponsors Rustin Warne, Elder Johnny Howell, and 2019 graduate, Jonathan Johnson.

The youth ministry is called “Ignite Youth.”  Bryce loves and enjoys getting to know each of the youth, their parents and families on an individual basis. He loves the bonding time he shares with them at retreats, camps, mission trips, and regular youth meetings each week.  Bryce is most proud of the willingness of the youth to surrender their own identity and discretions to allow Christ to guide them and work through each one of them. Ignite Youth has a mission marked by exemplary service, acceptance of others, and the boldness to share one’s testimony of faith in Christ.
