we could perhaps do the same here at Newhall
Pres. Stay tune! Then it was on to our third
annual Poetry reading night that we held over at the Java
Junction coffeehouse on Lyons. All the beatniks showed
up and brought along their poems, instruments and songs for
the pleasure of the latte-drinking crowd. We ended the
month with a solid victory over the old folks in the Turkey
bowl (this article is written prior to the 23rd, so
this is a prophecy that I am confident will be fulfilled), and
the start of a new 6-month confirmation class full of great
kids. In December, Paul will just try to nap to make
up for November and prepare for the new baby, so there will be
no youth activities. Right. No, we'll be caroling,
Christmas partying, delivering packages and the whole
wonderful Advent and Christmas deal. What a great time
of year. Thank you Lord!

In November, the J.Y.G.
kids took a look at some unknown, scary and confusing aspects
of life and how their faith fits into these areas. Very
good discussions. In December, we'll say goodbye
to Elliott Kopel who is moving to Texas with her brothers and
mom and dad. Elliott has been a faithful participant and
leader in J.Y.G. since she first came. We'll miss you
Elliott! On the 6th, the J.Y.G. kids, along
with Pioneer Club, will host the Advent Dinner. It will happen in place of
the typical Wednesday Night programs. All families are
welcome for a time of singing, eating and doing some fun
Christmassy craft together. The J.Y.G. Christmas party
will be on the 13th, and somewhere in there we'll
again serve dinner at the SCV homeless shelter. J.Y.G.
will not meet on the 20th or
27th. Merry Christmas!
