2000 Christmas Joy Offering
Sunday, December 17

Fifty percent of this offering is used by the Presbyterian Board of Pensions to offer "Income Supplements" to retired church workers and their surviving spouses.  With this assistance retirees can maintain a modest and independent living style.  Because of these Shared Grants people with unexpected financial difficulties are given "a hand up, not a hand out."  Your gift is an expression of your love and kindness and provides "a special touch of peace" for a troubled church worker.
The other fifty percent of this offering is used by the Presbyterian Church to provide help with basic operating costs and student scholarships in our many racial/ethnic schools.  These educational institutions include secondary and college preparation opportunities, as well as four-year college programs and professional graduate level studies.  All of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) schools are open to any qualified student regardless of race.

The Spirit of Christmas

By Arlys Aijian

God has truly blessed this church family with the talent of sharing of themselves in Jesus' name.  The abundant giving at Thanksgiving meant more families were blessed.
This Christmas we will start with 5 or 6 families and build from there.  Names and the sex or age of each child will be on each family's basket.  Pull one child's card if you want to get a gift for them.

Christmas foods and trimmings need to be in each family's basket.  We will be delivering on the Sunday before Christmas, December 17, or soon after.  Gift certificates are always most necessary and welcome!  Special requests keep coming including small, good used electric heaters and hot plates.  You may leave items on or near the pantry shelves in the Evans Room.

Your generosity in all these needs are fantastic!

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."  (Matt. 19:14)
