We've had a
great couple of months of Club and we'll keep busy through the
end of 2000. We continue to have 22 kids plus a few
visitors each week which makes for a loud and fun
atmosphere. We completed the "Creative Gifts" badge and
"Being Me" badge in September by making some very interesting
gifts and memorizing some verses from Genesis and
Romans. In October, we completed the "Cycling" badge as
well as the "Family Living" badge. In order to do so, we
took a 3-mile tour of the paseos on our bikes and ended up at
a park with games and snacks. This month we'll be
working on earning the "Joining God's Kingdom" badge as well
as the "Astronomy" badge. To earn the "Astronomy" badge,
we'll be taking a trip to Griffith Park Observatory on
Saturday, November 18 to star gaze and learn a little about
Venus. There will be no dinner or Club on November 22 as
we stretch out our tummies for Turkey day. Join us
instead Thanksgiving morning for the second annual Turkey Bowl
(flag football for all
levels!). Contact Paul at church, 259-0555 for more details on
that event. We'll wrap up Y2K with the Advent Dinner on Wednesday,
December 6 in place of normal Club activities (All church
members are invited!!) and caroling with the junior high group
on December 13. As always, any 3rd-6th grader is more
than welcome to join the fun. Join us for dinner at 6
p.m. and Club from 6:45 - 8 p.m. every Wednesday.
For more info,
contact Stacey at the church office, 259-0555.
